Summa Sausage on a Friday Night

May 30, 2015

Is it just me, or is it hotter than hot out? Although it’s supposed to cool down this weekend, we all gotta eat tonight right? So why not make something weather appropriate? I’m referring to grilling my friends…

Brett’s been dog sitting so we decided to grill up something healthy while our friend Ike played outside

The whole meal was done on the grill. We pouched green and red peppers with some onion in foil. All you have to do is toss the lot in some olive oil with salt and pepper to taste, seal in foil and toss on the grill. The onion flavors the veggies nicely and they all steam cook to perfection. image

Brett sliced some zucchini and grilled those along with the jalapeño sausages and sweet potatoes, again all on the grill, all seasoned with olive oil, salt and pepper. You could easily add some garlic powder or red pepper flakes for more zing, or eat as is. image

After everything was grilled and steamed, we plated and added a little cinnamon to our sweet potatoes.

The combo of the heat from the grill and the jalapeños balanced nicely with the fresh peppers and zucchini, not too hot for the weather, but spicy enough to keep it interesting! imageAs you can see I like to play with my food, but hey, who doesn’t like to have their blog and eat it too?

What do you guys like to make on a hot summer night? I’ll try anything once!
